Bob Lee Burger passed away in the early morning of Sunday, May 17th at his home. He is preceded in death by his parents Rex Earl Burger and Margaret Agnes Burger and two of his beloved sons, Michael Burger and Mitchell Burger.

Bob was born on September 30th, 1930 and grew up in the small town of Agra, Kansas before joining the Air Force as an airfield fireman. After serving his time in the Air Force, he was honorably discharged and returned home where he learned the electrical trade as a lineman. After some time he moved to Lafayette, Colorado with his former wife Betty and had his first three children, Michael, Mitchell and Patty. It was also there he met and fell in love with his wife, Louise.  In marriage, he not only gained a lifetime companion, but also two children, Robert and Ramona, who he legally adopted as his own. Later, he and Louise added one more son, Jason, to complete their family.

Bob had 65 years of service as a union electrician out of IBEW local 68 in Denver, Bob also took on roles in the City Council, proudly serving 16 years on the council, and almost a decade as the town Mayor, as well as many additional years participating in the Chamber of Commerce, The Elks, and local Lions Club.

After his retirement he lived life to the fullest. Bob was blessed and survived by his loving wife Louise, four children (Patty Leichty, Robert Burger, Ramona Clyncke, and Jason Burger), 21 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and his brothers Rex Dean Burger, Larry Burger, and Terry Burger. He was a man of courage and conviction who loved his family dearly and he will be grieved and missed by all.

Condolences

Dear Louise and Ramona, So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was one of the most gracious and sweet people I have had the opportunity of knowing. I have many fond memories of him helping us out while we were working together. He will be greatly missed. Love, Magie

Dear Louise, I was saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was always such a strong force for good. Always the gentleman, a gentle man. He and I would almost always laugh and call each other "Mayor" with a chuckle. I once said, with the utmost sincerity, that every person elected to hold office in Lafayette should do an 'internship' with Bob, so that he could explain Lafayette to them. He was the actual embodiment of everything I love about living here. He will be missed. Sending you peace and love. Sue KLEMPAN and family
