Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Muriel E Mecham, 88, died peacefully in Broomfield, Colorado on May 8, 2023. She was born in Roosevelt, Utah, to Earnest & Jennie Evans. She married her husband Weston Mecham on December 23, 1971 in Elko, Nevada.

Muriel had a deep love for her family and was happiest when she got to spend time with them. She loved to hear stories about her grandchildren and would retell those stories to anyone who would lend an ear. Her and our father had one of those loves that everyone hopes to find, remaining true and loving soul mates for 42 ½ years.

Muriel was a registered nurse and loved her chosen profession. Her passion was working with children and spent much of her career working at Primary Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospital, both in Salt Lake City, Utah for over 40 years.

From a very young age, Muriel was a gifted artist, winning her first art competition at eight years old. She was also president of Salt Lake City’s porcelain doll association and won many awards for the dolls she created. Muriel also excelled at sewing, knitting, crafting and crocheting.

Our mom will be missed by her immediate family, church family, and many friends whose lives she touched. 

Muriel is survived by her children Lynn (Julie) Mecham, Jennae Sevvom, and Pat (Jody) Mecham; her sister, Barbara Woolf; nine grandchildren and eleven and a half great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, a brother, and a great grandson.
