Carol Ann Imel

September 3rd, 1933 — February 2nd, 2023

Carol Ann Imel was born September 3, 1933, in Chicago Illinois. Born to Charles and Grace Dobroth. She passed away on February 2, 2023, in Boulder, Colorado.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Donald Imel. Carol is survived by her daughters and their husbands Cathy and Herb Riehl, Patti and Brett Schalamon, Becky, and Tom Gleason. 11 grandchildren, Anton, Liesel, Don Paul, Tim, Audrey and Woody Riehl. Tyrel, Lacy, and Jake Schalamon, Avalon Chavez, and Catlin Gleason. She also had 9 great grandchildren Ally, Marian, Analee, Adeline, George, Brett, Finn, Weslyn, and Rosilyn.

Carol came to Boulder to attend CU where she earned her degree in speech therapy. She also joined the Alpha Delta Phi sorority where she made lifelong friends. For many years after college, they would still get together and have a luncheon every month. Carol also enjoyed traveling with her husband and they went to many places throughout the world with Ports of Call travel club and on their own. She now is off to her most grand adventure.

 

 

Services

A memorial service will be held on February 9th, 2023, at 11am St. Martin Depours Church in Boulder, proceeding to the Green Mountain Cemetery at noon.

Dear Carol's dear family, My sympathy and prayers. Carol was a dear dear friend. I look back at all of the wonderful times Bob and I had with she and Don. I feel so fortunate that Carol and I did so much together. We were good friends! I am presently spending several months in Seattle with Becky and Wendy. Disappointed I will not be able to attend her service. My prayers, Carol was a special neat lady. Barbara Fink
