Ardon Daniel Pfnister, was born to Ardon and Rose Pfnister on March 15, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois. He was the youngest of three boys. Ardon was a loving and devoted husband & friend, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and military Veteran, serving both in the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard of Missouri. He was known for his big heart, loyalty to truth, wisdom beyond his age, and his determined spirit.
He spent his working days as an Engineer, working mostly in the Aerospace industry. He would tell you his greatest career assignment was working on the Gemini project for NASA. He spent a few years before retirement working as a Quality Control Engineer for the USPS.
Ardon was not overly social, not wanting to draw attention to himself but rather a lover of all things simple. He was a very charming person, with a wonderful sense of humor, who was loved by all who knew him. He had a special love of the Blessed Mother and was involved in a rosary group for several years. He loved sweets, all things trains, John Wayne movies, resources on the teachings of the church, but most of all, his forever Helen.
In the last few years, as his health challenges became more for him, you might hear him say, “I just want to go to sleep and be with Helen.” He got his Christmas wish, exactly how he had hoped, on December 21, 2022.
Please join family in celebrating the life and legacy of Ardon. The Rosary will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at 715 Cabrini Drive, Lafayette, CO 80026 on Friday, December 30, 2022 at 10:30 am. The Catholic Celebration of Life Mass will follow at 11:00 am. Following a short reception in the parish hall, the Interment will be held at Green Mountain Cemetery at 290 20th Street, Boulder, CO 80302.
In honor of Ardon and in lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Please designate “In Honor of Ardon Pfnister” on your donation.
