Douglas Jerome Nugent

Douglas Jerome Nugent, 68, from Frederick, Colorado passed on December 2, 2022.  He was born September 17, 1954, to Ralph A. Nugent and Leila R. Pacheco Nugent. 
Douglas lived in Denver through his junior year of high school.  He moved to California and graduated from Folsom High School.  He moved back to Denver after graduation and after a short time joined the Navy.  He proudly served in the Navy from 1975 to 1978.  Most of Douglas’ career was with Storage Tek then on to Sun.  He was a software and hardware engineer.  He received his bachelor’s degree at UNC. He was also the proud owner of the Market Square Liquor Store in Boulder before retiring.
Douglas married Patricia A. Escobedo of Louisville, Colorado on December 2, 1988.  He loved golfing, fishing, camping, and hunting.  Above all, he loved his family and friends, spending time with them, and giving a helping hand.  He dedicated much time to the American Legion serving as Commander, Financial Officer and Club Manager at Post III, a member for 35 years.  He was also a member of the American Legion Firestone Post 1985 as a Son of the American Legion and also a member of the American Legion Riders. 
Douglas is preceded in death by his father Ralph A. Nugent and his mother Leila R. Nugent.  Douglas is survived by his wife Patricia A. Escobedo Nugent of Frederick, CO, his two children, daughter Michelle McBride and her husband Clay of Longmont, CO, his son Chad Nugent and wife Kelly of Westminster, CO.
Douglas is also survived by his granddaughter Celeste Hinshaw of Longmont, great granddaughter Autumn Rinshaw of Longmont, his brother Ralph Nugent and his wife Eve of San Luis, Colorado, his niece Marci Nugent and Holly of Denver."
Douglas, his big heart, and great sense of humor will be greatly missed by family and friends.
