Linda May Posey

Linda May (Benton) Posey, 77, of Lafayette, passed away on Friday April 22nd, 2022. Linda was born on June 4th, 1944 in Boulder, CO. She was the youngest of three children born to John D Benton and Ester M (Bell) Benton. Linda was married to Gary G Posey on October 12th, 1963 at the Lafayette Methodist Church. They met in the 5th grade in 1955 and have been happily married for 58 wonderful years.
Linda lived her whole life in Lafayette. She is a 4th generation Boulder County resident and very proud that her Great Grandchildren are 7th generation.
Linda graduated from Lafayette High School in 1962 and Mile High Beauty School in 1963. Linda married the love of her life, Gary Posey in 1963. After graduation she went to work for Tre Marie Beauty Salon, and then moved on to work at The Beauty Chalet with her good friends, Pearl Alexander and Ethel Melton. In 1977 she opened her own Business, PM Shirts. 22 years later she sold the business and retired.
Linda spent 18 years volunteering for Lafayette Little League and LYRC. She started youth girls’ softball in Lafayette. She was also a Campfire Leader and director of candy sales.
Linda enjoyed camping, fishing, watching sports and most of all spending time with her grandchildren watching them play sports, baking cookies or any activity they participated in. Linda loved dogs, they always brought a smile to her face, she always had a dog and helped bring several litters of puppies into the world. Linda could never pass up a fudge shop. She loved watching the Broncos and Rockies. The most important thing to Linda was her family.
Linda had the kindest heart and truly impacted everyone she met, to know and be known by Linda was a blessing.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, brother Arthur, sister Eleanor (Benton) Monroe, son Scott Posey, niece Lori (Posey) Sheppard.
Linda is survived by her husband Gary Posey, daughter Chris (Posey) & husband Mark Dondelinger, grandson Drew & wife Kelsey Dondelinger of Highlands Ranch, CO, granddaughter Danelle Dondelinger of Erie, CO, great grandsons Daniel Posey Dondelinger and Winston John Dondelinger, nephews Don Monroe, John Monroe, David Posey, nieces Marilyn Elder, Carol Monroe, Robin Lambrecht, Erica Hildebrand and Debra Posey Jimenez.
Services
Visitation will be held at Darrell Howe Mortuary on Friday, April 29th from 5pm to 8pm.
The funeral service will follow on April 30th at Darrell Howe Mortuary beginning at 9:00am. Burial will follow the service at Lafayette Cemetery.
