Dené Romero

March 8th, 1977January 6th, 2020

Dené Raquel Romero was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on March 8, 1977.  Dené made her journey to heaven on January 6, 2020.  She was a devoted and dedicated mother to her three children, Isaias (22), Reina (19) and Delilah (16).  She raised her children with complete love and honesty and passed on her ferocious strength, courage and resilience to each one of them.  She loved unconditionally, her children, her family, her friends and her animals.  She was keeper of all the strays, rather it be one of her kids friends that needed a place to stay, a stray puppy found on the side of the road or a momma and child that needed a couch to crash on for a few days.  She attracted people and they gravitated towards her because of her kindness and her ability to connect with all walks of life.  She always offered a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen.  The one thing she didn’t do is take any crap from anyone.  She believed in “what’s right, is right” so don’t mess with her tribe.
Her relationship with the Lord was unwavering – even on the days her pain and suffering were close to unbearable – she prayed her rosary to find comfort and peace.
Dené was the wittiest, smartest person her family and friends had the honor to know.  The emptiness she has left in all our lives is crushing.  Dené taught us all how to carry on through the darkest times – through the several surgeries she endured over the past 14+ years (9 in 2019 alone), the excruciating pain she lived in daily and her desire to keep searching for the doctor that could finally help her heal and get on with her life.  Sadly, that was not in the stars for Dené – but she never gave up on her quest.
Dené is survived by her 3 amazing, strong children, her mother Lynne (Caranci) Isles (Larry), her father René Romero, her brother Rael’ Romero (Christina), sister Kristi Milam (Bart). Her aunt Star Romero, her uncle Randy Caranci (Barb), first cousin Nicholas Caranci (Hannah) her niece Marissa, nephews Jarrett, Tucker, Baxter and great niece Hailey.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray and Nadine Caranci, Raquel and Josephine Romero and her uncle Raymond Dean Caranci.

A funeral mass in Dene’s honor will be held on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 902 Grant Avenue, Louisville, CO.  Rosary is at 9:30 a.m. with mass following at 10 a.m.  Her final resting place will be at Coal Creek Cemetery, Louisville.  There will be a reception at the American Legion at 9959 Wadsworth Blvd., Broomfield, CO  80021 immediately following the services.
