Joshua Eugene Scott

July 10th, 1982November 9th, 2019

This is my command, be strong and courageous!  Do not be afraid or discouraged.  For the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.   Joshua  1:9

Joshua was born on July 10, 1982 in New Orleans, LA, the son of Junius (Sly) and Geraldine Arceneaux Scott.  He transitioned from this life to eternal life on Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Joshua accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Second Baptist Church by Reverend Hansford Vann and sang in the Shekinah Glory choir. In his later years, Joshua really began to understand what it meant to be a follower of Christ, especially in the midst of the difficulties he faced. This was evident in how he loved others, showed kindness and gave generously to his family and friends.

Joshua had many talents and interests. During his short life here on this earth he lived in Illinois, Louisiana and Colorado. He has worked as a Production Operator, Material handler, Inventory coordinator and currently worked at Home Depot in the shipping and delivery department in Louisville, CO.

Joshua loved his family and was a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He had an infectious smile that could brighten anyone’s day. He had a special way of relating with kids and especially loved being an uncle to his nieces and nephews and kids of his friends.

Joshua was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Leon and Leona Scott, his maternal grandparents, Earl and Johnnie Mae Arceneaux. Uncles, Jerry Arceneaux, Al Gibson and Donald Ray Vessel. Aunts, Pleasant Scott and Lana Anderson.

Surviving to cherish the memory of Joshua E. Scott are his parents, Junius (Sly) and Geraldine of the home, sister, Christine (Darryl) Kilpatrick of Plainfield, IL, brother, Junius Sylvester (Michelle) Scott, Jr. of Chicago, IL, nieces, Kaitlyn Mac, Lilah Scott and Camille Kilpatrick, nephews,  Nathan Mac,  Austin Kilpatrick and Leon Scott,  aunts, Neotha Joseph, Valerie English, Ardell Arceneaux, Patsy Vessel and Phyllis Vessel, uncles, Leandrew Carter, Leon (Rhonda) Scott,  Eugene (Shelia) Scott, Avery Scott, Earl Arceneaux, Adam (Mary Ann) Arceneaux, Randolph (Sandra) Arceneaux and many great aunts and uncles, cousins, and friends.
