Brandy Fischer

Brandy Fischer passed away on August 26, 2019 while in Active Duty to the U.S. Navy. She was born in Denver, Colorado on December 27, 1990 to Kevin and Rose (Borquez) Fischer and raised in Erie. She was stationed in San Diego, California in January of 2019 and owned a home in Frederick, Colorado.

She attended Erie High School and went on to graduate from the Colorado University of Denver. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy as Petty Officer, and then as a Fire Controlman Technician, second class.

Brandy enjoyed playing volleyball and sports in general. She liked to fish, loved the ocean and had a deep fondness for animals. Brandy liked camping and getting together for celebrations with family and friends. She’s known for her adventurous personality an for being a natural born leader, as well as caretaker. She was a real do-it-yourself-er and by 7 years old, she was the Martha Stewart of the family.   She was “The Ultimate Bargain Slayer”.

Brandy is survived by her loving husband, Michael D. Schmid; mother, Rose Fischer; grandmother, Betty Rodriguez; great-grandmother, Rosie Rodriguez; grandparents, Donald and Irene Fischer; niece, Jozlyn Silva; and her beloved pets, Deuce, Bella and Little Foot.

Preceding her in death are her father, Kevin Fischer; her brother, Bryson Fischer; and her grandfather, Paul Borquez.

In honor of her service, Brandy has been posthumously promoted to Fire Controlman, second class, by the United States Navy.

I am so sorry for the loss of brandy She was one of the most intelligent driven loving caring and all-around amazing person I’m so thankful for the time that I got to spend with her and I am so sorry to Mikey and her mama I’m praying for you and your family to get through these difficult times ♥️
