Roxann Joyce Turner

Erie, Colorado resident Roxann Turner died Friday, March 22, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in
Lafayette after battling a long illness. She was 75 years old.
She was born Roxann Joyce Schneider on November 29, 1943 in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of
Adora D. (Tonn) and Floredwi Schneider. She grew up in L.A. and graduated from Lutheran High School
with the class of 1961. She went on to receive her Early Childhood Certificate.
She married Walter Rasmussen on June 9, 1961. They were blessed with two daughters Rosalyn and
Christi.
On April 2, 1976, Roxann was united in marriage to Michael Turner in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were
blessed with daughter Tracey.
Mike was a career U.S. Navy man and travels moved them to different parts of the world. Roxann loved
working with children and became a Preschool Educator for many years.
Roxann enjoyed crocheting, retail therapy, decorating cakes with Mike, and was an avid reader. While
Mike served in the Navy, she served as a Navy Ombudsman serving as a liaison between navy families
and naval command. She cherished the time spent with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents and first husband Walter.
Family members left to cherish her memory are her loving husband Mike of their home in Erie,
daughters Rosalyn DeFrees and husband Doug of Erie, Christi Varney and husband Kris of Ogden, UT,
and Tracey Turner of Santa Anna, CA. She is also survived by one brother Curt Schneider and his wife
Diane of Canyon Lake, CA. Also surviving are her 5 grandchildren Kendra Schofield, Jennifer Shaw,
Nicholas DeFrees, Jillian DeFrees, and Abbagail DeFrees. 4 Great-grandchildren Dezarae Fowers,
Drezdon Shaw, Zaily Shaw, and Kazen Russell.
Roxann’s family suggests memorial be made in her name to the Humane Society of Boulder.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON MONDAY, APRIL1, AT 10:30 A.M. AT THE CALVARY BIBLE CHURCH IN ERIE, CO.

BURIAL WILL BE PRIVATE IN THE FT. LOGAN NATIONAL CEMETERY, DENVER.
