Howard "Howie" Moore Jr.

May 18th, 1931March 17th, 2019

Longtime Louisville, Colorado resident Howard (Howie) Moore Jr., died Sunday, March 17, 2019, comfortably and peacefully at Lutheran Collier Hospice Center after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He was 87 years old.

Howie was born on May 18, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois.  In January 1967, Howie met and married Celeste Moore in Evanston, Illinois. The couple was blessed with one daughter, Renae (Moore) Stewart.

The couple moved to Louisville in July 1991 from Chicago to begin a new chapter in their lives.  Howie, most memorably, worked as the front door greeter at the former K-Mart on South Boulder Road.  Most of the Louisville community got to know and love him there.  Others knew him as the talkative and friendly guy puttering outside his house with jazz music blaring from the garage.

Howie loved classic cars, jazz music, going to Black Hawk, and watching sports with his son-in-law Roy.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 52 years, Celeste, his daughter Renae Stewart and her husband Roy Stewart of Colorado Springs, Colorado. #everydayjustbemellow.
