David Edward Maestas

David E. Maestas was born in Boulder, Colorado to Vangie and Rudy Maestas on February 17, 1971. He grew up in Boulder, and graduated from Centaurus High School in Lafayette, class of 1989. He was currently residing in Erie, Colorado at the time of his passing. Dave worked as a Senior Operator for Corden Pharma (formally Roche) for 25 years. He was also a long time member of the Boulder Fire Brigade. Dave considered his greatest accomplishments being a father and grandfather. Dave became a father to his only daughter, Shayla R. Maestas, on August 21, 1993. He became a grandfather on May 6, 2013 to his granddaughter Alexa A. Vega. He welcomed his first grandson, Jax A. Haagensen on April 19, 2014. Some of Dave’s many interests include NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt Sr and Martin Truex Jr., Harley Davidson Motorcycles, mountain bike riding and family. David is survived by his wife, Jennifer Vega;  his daughter Shayla Maestas; his parents Rudy and Vangie Maestas; sister Flory Maestas; stepdaughters Shayla Vega and Diondra Gallegos; and grandchildren Jax Haagensen and Alexa Vega; and his mother-in-law Mickey Palmer.

 

The family will be receiving friends at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette from 1-3PM on Sunday, February 3, 2019. There will be a funeral service starting at 10AM on Monday, February 4, 2019 in the chapel at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I went to elementary and middle school with Dave and rode the same bus. We were friends then and had just recently last year gotten in touch on facebook. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and hope his family knows how sorry I am
