Jacquelie P. Harris

It is with great sorrow that the family of Jacqueline (Jackie) Pearle Harris would like to announce the passing of their beloved mother and grandmother. At 95 years young, Jackie passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loved ones on January 24, 2019.


Jackie was united in marriage to Gerald J. Harris on April 12, 1947. She is survived by a brother, Charles E. Vitt, and her children Gerald C. Harris, Jane E. Harris, Donald F. Harris, Richard J. Harris, and Luan M. Chavez, as well as, 8 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald, her sister Eileen Barker, and cherished grandson, Robert.


Jacqueline was born in Boulder, Colorado, on December 31, 1923 to Ervin and Mable Vitt. Jackie lived a full life in which she traveled to many countries with her husband Gerald. She had a unique work history as an original “Rosy the Riveter” and later in life, after raising her 5 children, enjoyed her work at Borg’s Children Shop and JC Penney. She was an amazing crafts woman known in some circles as the “Glitter Lady” and used her artistic skills to bring smiles to many. Jacqueline attended Boulder Valley Christian Church for a number of years and enjoyed celebrating her love of the Lord there. She will be fondly remembered for the many different roles she played, such as, a kind friend, devoted grandmother and fun-loving great grandmother. Her family will carry many wonderful memories and beautiful life lessons forward with them and will always remember Jackie’s wonderful sense of humor and love she showed everyone with whom she came in contact.



 A visitation with the family will begin at 11:30 a.m. at the Boulder Valley Christian Church on Tuesday, January 29, prior to the service.

Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, January 29th, 2019 at 12:30 p.m. Boulder Valley Christian Church, 7100 S. Boulder Road, Boulder, CO 80303.

Burial will follow directly at Mountain View Memorial Park in Boulder.

There will be an open house and celebration of life will occur at the American Legion afterwards in Boulder at 4760 28th Street, Boulder, CO 80301
