Herman Fauson

Herman “Herm” Fauson died Tuesday, December 4th 2018 in his home in Louisville. 

He was born to Jules and Leah (Wilbaut) Fauson on August 25, 1929. He married the love of his life, Virginia (Ferarese) on October 20th 1951. He then served four years in the United States Navy on the USS Princeton alongside his good friend and brother-in-law, Joe Ferarese.

Herm spent his 30+ year career serving the citizens of Louisville as owner and operator of Herm’s Barber Shop on Main Street.  He was a member of the Louisville City Council from 1980-1986, and served as Mayor from 1986-1992. He was President of the Colorado Municipal League and was active in numerous other committees that promoted the betterment of the community.

In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and spending time in the mountains with Virginia and other family members, and golfing. They liked to travel and enjoyed not only U.S. destinations, but visited the islands of Barbados, Aruba and Curacao. They especially enjoyed their numerous trips to Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe and Mesquite.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers; Norman and Jules, Jr. and sisters; Rosemary (Dirkes) and Laberta (Stowell).  He is survived by his wife Virginia, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends. Herm was a kind, generous and loving man who touched the lives of many people.  He will be greatly missed, but forever in our hearts.



Graveside services will be held at 11: 00 am on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at the Louisville Cemetery
