Corina Monares, age 87, of Lafayette, CO, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on December 5, 2018. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, John Monares. She lives on in her children, Robert Lujan of Longmont, Colorado; Pat Smith of Denver, CO; James Lujan of Denver, CO; Janet Hunter and her husband Vincent Hunter of Dallas, TX; her step-children Sherry Nirschl and her husband Chris Nirschl of San Diego, CA; and John R. Monares of Longmont, CO. She is also survived by her grandchildren Scott Peters of Denver, CO; Shane and Kat Peters of Berthoud, CO; Stan and Angie Peters of Lake Stevens, WA; Drake Lujan of Longmont, CO; Christin and Joshua Terrell of Longmont, CO; Dustin Nirschl of San Diego, CA and Issac Monares of Salt Lake City, UT. She is also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews in Colorado, California, Nevada and Washington; and by her sister Gloria Denney of Vancouver, WA; and her brother Mike and his wife Lori Bugarin of Denver, CO. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ecequiel and Felecitas Bugarin, and her brothers Dave Bugarin and Jess Bugarin. There will be no immediate memorial service. The family would like to thank her sister-in-law Jennie Mora, her nephew John Mora and niece Tracy and her husband Leonard and daughter Ciara for their loving assistance, along with the staff of Trail Winds Hospice and a team of CNAs for their loving care. If you would like to memorialize her, donations may be made in Corina’s name to the Humane Society of Boulder.
