Charles “Chuck” Oliver Parks of Superior, Colorado passed away August 26, 2018 at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community in Buhler, Kansas.  He was 85 years old.

Chuck was born in a cabin his Father built in Allenspark, Colorado on December 24, 1932 to Charles Alfred “Al” Parks and Ida Belle (Schaben) Parks.  Chuck’s family lived in Boulder when he started school where he attended Pleasant View and Baseline grade schools.  He graduated from Boulder Sr. High School in 1950.  After graduating Chuck was a truck driver for Boise Payette Lumber Yard in Boulder.

He was inducted in the United States Army in January 1953 leaving Boulder for the next adventure in life with eight of his high school buddies.  He was stationed in Germany with A-Btry, 7th FABN. While in Germany he served a TDY detail in South Korea.  He received an Honorable discharge from the Army at Ft. Carson Colorado in December 1954.

Returning to Boulder after his service he found work as a carpenter which he was familiar with as his father Al was a carpenter.  He met Lucille Marie Yoos in early 1956 and later that year they married.  To this union they were blessed with three children, Linda Marie, Gary Lee, and Shelia Lynn.  Later Chuck and Lucille divorced.

Chucks hobbies included exploring the wilds of the Colorado Mountains via a four wheeled drive vehicle or two wheel drive Tote Goat, garage sales, trying his hand at cooking, and working on small engines.  His passion in life was fishing and eating what he caught.  As a lifelong Carpenter, Chuck used his knowledge and expertise as the Building Inspector for the Town of Superior when called upon.

Chuck had many friends in Colorado and Arizona where he played the “Snow Bird” game.  Among his life time friends were Maxine and Betty and their families.

Preceding him in death were his parents and sister Thelma Arlene (Parks) Dunn.

Survivors include his sister Viola Jean Edmonds, Hygiene, CO; brother Harold Eugene Parks, Longmont CO, children Linda Marie Miletich and husband Mike, Goodyear, AZ; Gary Lee Parks and wife Ann of Buhler, KS; and Shelia Lynn Parks, Superior, CO; Lucille Kreps, Broomfield CO; Betty Lou Jerram, Aurora CO and her family.  Chuck also left behind four grand children, seven great grand children, nieces and a nephew.
