Sara Lynn Olson

Sara Lynn Olson, died Sunday, December 31, 2017 in Louisville, CO. She was 70. She was born May 28, 1947 in Loris, South Carolina to Maude Elizabeth (Watts) and Austin Bardy Cox. She grew up in Conway, SC where she graduated from Conway High School, then attended Coastal Carolina University. 

On May 23, 1986, Sara was united in marriage to her loving husband Douglas William Olson. They lived in Louisville the last 30 years where their home was more than just a place to live. Their love for each other was most evident in this last year as she battled cancer. Doug’s love for Sara knows no boundaries. He took care of her with such love and compassion and she will be greatly missed. 

She enjoyed reading, playing piano, singing and most of all time with her husband and family. 

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and one sister. 

Surviving family members are husband Doug of Louisville, CO; her children Lori (Derrick) Russ of Mount Pleasant, SC, Josh (Jill) Olson of Georgetown, TX, and Beth Person of Cedar Park, TX; six grandchildren Caitlin, Jacob, Zachary, Jordan, Landen and Brooklynn; 3 brothers and 3 sisters of South Carolina and a number of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations my be made in Sara's nme to the Amerca Cancer Society online at Cancer.org, or mailed to P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel at Darrell Howe Mortuary on 1701 W. South Boulder Road, Lafayette, Colorado
