Leslie Clifford Adelsberger

Brighton, Colorado resident Les Adelsberger died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at The Denver Hospice in Denver, Colorado. He was 79 years old.

Leslie Clifford Adelsberger was born on May 1, 1938 in Baltimore, Maryland, the son of William and Gladys (Hare) Adelsberger. Les grew up in the Hampden area of Baltimore. He attended High School at Baltimore City College and graduated with the class of 1957. He was on the Baseball, Football, and Swimming Baltimore City College teams.  Les resided in Baltimore, Maryland then moved to Brighton, CO in 2016.

Les started working for the Baltimore  Gas & Electric out of high school until he served in the United States Army & United States Army Reserve. He was stationed at Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Baltimore and started  working at the Baltimore Gas & Electric. He retired from the Baltimore Gas & Electric in 2002. He worked there for 44 years.

He enjoyed traveling, baseball, golfing and fishing. He volunteered as a youth basketball coach. He also enjoyed working in the yard. Every opportunity Les had was spent at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland.

Preceding Les in death were his parents, his siblings Margaret Hood, William Adelsberger, Bernadine Menikheim,  Paul Adelsberger, Richard Adelsberger, Eugene Adelsberger, Edward Adelsberger, and Dorothy Allen.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou; his children Dawn Brennan of Richmond, VA, Tricia Adelsberger of Colorado Springs, CO, Cindy Lavan and her husband Timothy of Topsham, ME, and John Adelsberger of Baltimore, MD. Also surviving are his grandchildren Annabelle Mangan, Charles Lavan, Peter Lavan, Paige Adelsberger, and Audrey Adelsberger.

 

Services

Graveside services will be held at Green Mountain Cemetery in Boulder, CO on April 13, 2018.
