Julia Kay Jones

Lafayette, CO resident Julia “Julie” Jones, died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at her home. She was 59 years old.

She was born Julia Kay Werth on August 1, 1958 in Sheldon, IA, the daughter of Robert D. and Betty Jean (Norton) Werth. Julie grew up in LeMars, IA. She and her family moved to Colorado in 1965 where she graduated from Fairview High School in Boulder with the class of 1975.

After high school she began working at Neo Data, which later became E.D.S., and is now Hewlett Packard. She retired from her Systems Engineer position in July 2017 after 30 years of service.

She was united in marriage to Jeffrey Jones on June 27th, 1987, in Colorado.

Julie enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and collecting. Her favorite times were the trips to Mexico and traveling to other parts of the country. She loved the time spent with her family and especially her grandchildren.

Preceding Julie in death were her father, and her husband, Jeff.

Surviving family members are her children, Jon McParland and his wife, Liz of Golden, CO, and Melissa Zuhlke and her husband, Danny of Denver, CO. She is survived by her mother and step-father Betty and Sig Stenlund of Louisville, CO, and her loving grandchildren Cerenity Zuhlke, Shyann Zuhlke, Cadan Zuhlke, Lelia McParland, and Quinn McParland. Also surviving, is her sister Debbie Werth and her husband Larry Barker of Jonestown, CO.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette, Colorado at 2:00 PM.
