Michele Diane Atwell

Lafayette, CO – Michele Diane Atwell, 62, of Brighton, Colorado passed away on Friday, November 24, 2017 in Park County, Colorado.

She was born on March 28, 1955, the daughter of the late Mary Lou (DeLoriea) Cowles and Emerson Cowles Jr. of Corinth. Michele graduated from Corinth High School in 1973, and received her Associates Degree in 1975 from Maria College in Albany. On October 6, 1979 Michele and Joe Atwell were joined together in marriage.

She had a variety of interests, including her dogs Sophie, Dottie, and Molly, visiting Hawaii, going saltwater fishing, riding motorcycles, snowmobiling, socializing by her pool, singing, and most of all, spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her mother and brother, Emerson W. Cowles III. Michele is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Joe and their children Joseph H Atwell II and Jenna Naatz (Ben), as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will be receiving friends at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at Darrell Howe Mortuary in Lafayette, CO, with a funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Donor Alliance (303-329-4747, ext. 3), American Heart Association (donatenow.heart.org), or to an organization of their choice. 


Visitation will be held at Darrell Howe Mortuary on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 10:00 am, with services to follow in the Darrell Howe Chapel at 11:00 am.
