Longtime Boulder area resident Jane Siefert died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at her residence at Balfour Independant Living in Louisville, CO. She was 82 years old.

She was born Jane Loree Johnson on October 5, 1934 in Fon du Lac, Wisconsin, the daughter of Lester Roland and Violet Frances (Graunke) Johnson. The family moved to Black River Falls, Wisconsin where she attended and graduated from Black River High School in 1953. She went on to attend the University of Wisconsin and was proud to be a Badger. She then attended William and Mary College in Williamsburg Virginia, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Education, with an emphasis in Home Economics.

On June 19, 1954, Jane was united in marriage to Charles J. Siefert in Black River Falls. She and Charles grew up as childhood friends. The wedding was a double ceremony with Jane’s identical twin sister Jone and Charles’ good friend Peter Hoffman. Jane and Charles were married 49-1/2 years before his death in 2003.

She and Charles moved to Boulder in 1976. She taught in the Boulder Valley School system for 34 years.  Jane enjoyed sewing, cooking, running and exercising. She was extremely proud of finishing 24 Bolder Boulder 10k races with her family. She especially loved watching the Colorado Rockies and the Denver Broncos. In her later years she became an avid reader. Favorite times were spent with her 5 grandchildren and being with her family. Her friends and family would agree that she was very loving, giving and energetic.
