Katherine R. "Katie" Lundvall

Katherine “Katie” (Robinson) Lundvall passed away peacefully at home in Eldorado Springs on May 11 2017 with family at her side. Katie was born in Boulder to Katherine and William E. Robinson, a local FBI agent. Katie spent most of her life on the Pioneer Ranch in Eldorado Springs. She attended the one room school house in Eldorado Springs as many other generations did. After receiving her BSN, Katie was an RN at Boulder community hospital for many years. She had a passion for exercise and become a  certified aerobics and fitness instructor. Katie still taught classes and demonstrated the power of example at age 75, working at 24 Hour Fitness Clubs around Boulder and Denver. She loved inspiring water fitness and cycling classes.  Most evenings Katie could be found at Flatirons athletic club, as she was a member for decades.  Her summer rituals up the canyon at the pool she was known by her childhood nickname: Tootsie. Katie was a CU football fan (Go Buffs!) and activist to save Eldorado Mountain from mining.  Her greatest daily joy was walking her dogs and with her children in the fields taking in the the beauty; a hay meadow and the priceless view from her home. Katie is preceded in death by husband Richard Lundvall. She is survived by children, Heather Klinker and Holly Allen of Eldorado Springs, and Kyle Jon Robinson of Edinberg Texas; granddaughter, Christina Dunagan of San Marcos California; brothers, Charles D. Robinson of Boulder and William A. Robinson M.D. of Denver; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins in the Boulder and Denver area. A memorial service will be be held at the family Ranch on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at 11:00 AM, followed by Katie's favorite walk and committal of the ashes. The address of the family ranch is 3550 Eldorado Springs Drive, Boulder, CO 80303.
