Patricia Ann Kendrick

May 11th, 1950September 12th, 2022

Patricia (Tricia) was born in Southern Ohio, the oldest child of Worthy and Virginia (Cooper) Scites. She participated in 4-H (for 10 years), was active in youth programs (E.U.B. and United Methodist) and was assistant organist at church for a year. In high school, she played clarinet in the marching and concert band and continued clarinet in concert band at the Ohio State University. She graduated from OSU with a medical technology degree and her first job was in Boston, MA where she met her future husband. Before marriage, she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma which required surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy; the long-term effects caused heart and lung disease.

In 1976 Tricia married Steve Kendrick, born and raised in Memphis, TN. The two shared many adventures. They went to Bogota, Colombia and came home with their new children (Elizabeth Ivon and Stephen Mauricio). After the kids were on their own, the two explored many parts of the world; some trips included a solar eclipse. Their travels included such exciting destinations as Easter Island, Machu Pichu, Turkey, Egypt, Italy, France, Indonesia, Australia, and Galapagos.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Lafayette, Colorado. She is survived by husband Steve, children Stephen and Ivon, siblings Anita, Willie, and Tony (and Pam), nephews, and cousins. She appreciated kindness from friends, neighbors, family, and many prayers from lots of people. She was truly blessed. Along the way, Tricia developed deep friendships with some co-workers, neighbors, and others. The Lord has saved her many times, and now it's time to thank Him in person for His goodness and blessings.

A donation may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Tricia.

Condolences

I am so sorry to hear of Patricia's passing. I always admired her grace and intelligence. We had many good times growing up in the church and with the family. Gretchen Ervin Crabtree
Fifty years ago, a group of new college graduates joined the Blood Bank staff at NE Deaconess Hospital in Boston. Trisha/Pat was one of them and we were all blessed by her presence and still are inspired by her courage, dedication, and faith. We were able to learn more about life from each other than we learned about complex laboratory science. A potential devastating diagnosis for her was an opportunity for all her friends and family to witness an unparalleled appreciation for a true belief that each day we have is a gift from our God. It is not difficult to imagine my friend now thanking God in person because I know that because of her pure goodness, the Lord was able to greet her with “I know YOU!” And we can all in our prayers for Tricia trust that in her usual way she is asking God to help her husband family and friends find comfort and peace. My unforgettable friend loved elephants and forever l will be grateful for her love and friendship. God bless!
