Ann Katherine Ray

Ann K. Ray of Louisville passed away of natural causes on Friday, April 29, 2022 in Louisville. She was 87. The daughter of Sumpter and Grace Patterson, she was born on April 6, 1935 in Wichita, Kansas. 

Ann moved to Colorado at an early age and graduated from Boulder School district. She married Joseph Ray on August 25, 1957 and they made their home in Louisville. She worked at the Bureau of Standards Credit Union for many years. After retiring from the credit union, she went on to work as a seamstress, her true calling. 

Ann loved butterflies and had butterfly décor everywhere. She was an avid bowler and went to many national tournaments. After retirement, she and Joe loved RVing and traveled all around the country. Ann loved spending time with her family, and they will miss her greatly.

Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, George and Dean Patterson, and brothers-in-law, Jack Simkins and John Ray. Survivors include her daughter, Sheryl (Randy) Coons; son, Kurt Ray; sisters, Sharlotte and Sheri; sisters-in-law, Aura and Irene, several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.


A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, May 9th at 10am at Darrell Howe Mortuary. Burial will follow the service at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont at 11:30am.

Loved this lady I met through sister Sharlotte. Spent many weekend nights at their house having slumber parties, not much slumber though. Always looked forward to next morning having cinnamon rolls for breakfast. My maiden name was Hannafius.
