Lanny Ray Neumann

Lanny Ray Neumann was born on Thursday, September 16th, 1971 to Maureen Mason and Larry R. Neumann in Crescent City, California. He passed away on Friday, April 29th, 2022 in Boulder, Colorado at the age of 50.

When Lanny was young, he moved to Colorado with his mother and sister. He graduated from Centaurus High School in Lafayette in 1989. He currently lived in Thornton, with his son Shelby, for approximately the last 20 years. He worked at Graphic Packaging International for 31 years as a graphic designer/packaging specialist. 

Lanny was a very skilled pool player and Texas Holdem player. He got his love of playing pool from his grandmother and played pool with her all the time when he was a kid. He had a deep passion for music and enjoyed camping, boating, and taking rides on his Harley. He loved playing backgammon, sudoku, and solitaire. His favorite moments were always spent with his family including his son Shelby. He was an uncle and great uncle to 8 nieces and nephews and he loved spending time with them. He had many good friends and when not with his family or working, he spent his time with many of his friends. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.

Lanny is survived by his son, Shelby Neumann of Thornton, CO; his mother, Maureen “Moe” (Glenn) Mason of Lafayette, CO; his father, Larry Neumann (Barbara) of Redding, CA; his sisters, Lori (Randy Robinette) Neumann of Durango, CO and Crystal (Jessica) Mason of Raymond, WA; 2 Half brothers, Brian and Michael and 1 Half sister, Ann; nieces, Jamie Schlessman of Henderson, CO, Kendall Davis of Henderson, CO and Raeleane Ponzar of Durango, CO; and nephew, Josh Schlessman of Arvada, CO along with 3 great nephews and 1 great niece. He is preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and by his ex-wife, Rachel Garcia.


A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, May 6th from 1pm - 6pm at 30/70 Sports Bar and Grill located at 1885 W. 120th Ave., #1300, Westminster, CO 80234. We will be gathering to share some of our favorite memories and stories, to laugh, to cry, and remember a person who is greatly missed.

Lanny was not a man of many words, yet he found several to tell his younger sister, Crystal, when she came out. He was loving and protective. He was kind. He was only upset that she didn't tell him right away. My love goes to the family. Embrace your memories and hold them close.
