Astrik Deirmendjian

February 2nd, 1925March 20th, 2021

Astrik Deirmendjian was born on February 2nd, 1925 to Eunice (Partikian) and Navasart Deirmendjian in Mytilini, Greece. She was the only girl of three children. Astrik passed away on March 20th, 2021 in Louisville, CO at the age of 96.

Astrik attended the Piano Conservatory in Athens and was an accomplished pianist. She also went to UCLA and obtained her bachelor’s degree in mathematics in 1961. Astrik lived in the Boulder area for 59 years, having moved here in 1962. She worked as a scientific computer programmer at the National Center for Atmospheric Research for over 20 years before retiring.

Astrik was a devoted Christian and was a member of Calvary Bible Church. She taught Sunday School, was a Bible Study Leader, a prayer warrior, and a friend and mentor to many at Calvary Bible Church. Astrik will be remembered for how she treated people, with love and great encouragement. She was always there for those who needed her. She will be dearly missed.

Astrik is preceded in death by her parents and her brothers. She is survived by her nephews and countless friends.
